Two Door Cinema Club – “Something Good Can Work”

We’ve already raved about Two Door Cinema Club, the Irish trio with the drum machine backing.  Besides rocking Gravis and being some music/skate junkies, these guys make some white-boy club-stomping music that’s akin to labelmates Phoenix.  The video and singles from Tourist History are great and the band will undoubtedly be this year’s darkhorse, just as Phoenix was last year.

Two Door Cinema Club – “Lasso” (Phoenix cover)

MP3: “Lasso” (Phoenix cover) – Two Door Cinema Club

Two Door Cinema Club recently covered “Lasso” by some band named Phoenix . . . apparently these guys are big or something.

Lasso was a mid-way point on Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix and Two Door Cinema Club does their label-mates justice with this spot-on cover.  Tune your drum machines to 20 with this one.

Sights: Two Door Cinema Club – I Can Talk

A lot of bands can talk like they’re something special . . . a lot of bands really think that they’re breaking the mold.  Not a lot of bands make a lo-fi, seventies-feeling video like Two Door Cinema Club have here.

This band is definitely picking up steam into 2010 and every single that comes out seems to get catchier and sees more internet hype than the last.  When I heard the band’s first couple of singles, I wrote them off as another Bloc Party/Good Shoes-ish kind of act.  Now it’s very apparent that they’re a clever electro-pop band that can definitely make some waves.
