Formerly called “The Muslims”, The Soft Pack have been working on their debut, self-titled release for the past year and a half. Hailing from San Diego, this pack of miscreants seems to pull more influence from the eastern Garage-scene than they do the LA hipster scene. Melodic and catchy, the band rests it’s laurels firmly on 90′s rock, mixed with just a hint of brit-twang and punk rock. The Soft Pack looks to make mainstream, bread-winners out of the band in 2010, and is being mixed by DC hardcore producer, Eli Janney (Brainiac, Jawbox, Girls Against Boys, Ryan Adams, The Rapture, Satellite Party . . . the list goes on).
This album could turn out to cause more club-panic than the new Spoon album. Get ready to sweat.
